A slow, luxurious week on the Oregon Coast

The Ember Coast Atelier7 min read

A seven-day Oregon Coast itinerary from Cannon Beach to Bandon, built for dramatic scenery, world-class golf and seafood, and an unhurried pace.

The short answer

A relaxed luxury week on the Oregon Coast runs north to south, from Cannon Beach and Manzanita down through Newport and the dunes to Bandon. Plan for dramatic scenery, world-class golf and seafood, and weather that rewards a slow, flexible pace over a packed schedule.

The Oregon Coast is not a lie-on-the-beach trip. It is a coastline for driving, walking, and eating extremely well, where the reward is the scenery and the seafood rather than the sunbathing. Plan it slow and let the fog come and go.

Days one to two: Cannon Beach and Manzanita

Start in the north with Haystack Rock, the galleries of Cannon Beach, and long walks on wide sand. Settle into a quiet oceanfront inn, watch the sunset with a glass of local pinot, and eat the freshest Dungeness crab of your life. Manzanita, just south, adds an even calmer stretch of beach if you want it.

Days three to four: Newport and the central coast

Work your way down to the central coast, lighthouses, tide pools, and the drives through the dunes and misty coastal forest. This stretch is where the coast feels wildest between towns, so build in time simply to pull over, and end each day with more seafood and a fire.

Days five to seven: Bandon and the south

Finish in the south at Bandon, home to some of the finest links golf in the world and beaches so wild and empty they feel like another century. Play a round, walk out to Face Rock at low tide, and let the last two days be as slow as the coast wants them to be.

The Oregon Coast keeps its beauty a little wild on purpose, and a good week leans into that rather than fighting the fog.
