When to go

Timing is the whole trip.

Winter is the four mountains (late Nov to early Apr)

World-class skiing across Aspen Mountain, Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass, with snowcat tours, sleigh-ride dinners at Pine Creek and fireside apres-ski.

Summer goes to the high country (Jun to Sep)

Hiking to the Maroon Bells and Cathedral Lake, rafting and fly-fishing on the Roaring Fork, paragliding, ballooning and golf at Maroon Creek and Snowmass.

Fall is for golden aspens

The quieter shoulder weeks deliver spectacular golden-aspen color and thinner crowds, with lighter lodging and dining availability before the snow returns.

Two timed gates to plan around

The Maroon Bells need timed reservations in season, and Independence Pass opens only late May through early November. We hold both windows the moment they release.
